that is where historical Albania is and should be

you never were Balkan people, and were moved by the Turks - thus, all your claims to Epirus, FYROM and Kosovo is a load of propaganda bullshit

Catholosicm didnt even exist as a religion when the Illyrians were around. Anyways, before the ottomans came, albanians were Orthodox Christian and they got along with Serbia very well and we were actually quite good friends. Too bad islam ruined it all.

Anyways, ALBANIANSOLDIER, cant you read the map?! Albania is in present-day Azerbaijan not Illyria.

Well said. It should be noted that most people retained their religion under the Ottomans. Greeks, Serbs, Romanian, Bulgars... So why did Albania change en mas as you suggest?
ANS: Because they took Azerbijanis across (who were already islamic)

Think about it.

It should also be noted that Northenr Albanians were actually resisting turkish conversion and they compose the bulk of the albanian Orthodox people. The south of albania accepted islam. Also, the turks were immigrating islamic people en masse into albania t help with the islamification.

Also, though some Serbs did accept islam the core of the Serbian community didnt. It should also be noted that those who did accept islam considered themselves Serb and loosely followed the religion. Many also were converting back to Orthodoxy.

And also interesting that Galatia is close to there too, as it is visible in the first map! I was always wondering about this.

because i cannot imagine young people talking like that, wasting time in such bullshit talk and insulting a whole nation. I am Albanian but i would not ever insult someones own nation and people.
As there is a region in the Caucasus called Albania probably Albanians of the Balkan came from there because there cant be an other explanation. It's not probable that the name derives from Albanopolis and Albanoi described by Ptolemeus, topographic names that describe places in modern Albania, or other names which can be explained in Albanian language. No that is too obvious. We will stick to the first version.
Probably, since there is Iberia too, there we have the inhabitants of ancient Spain. Or Galizia in Ukraine and Galitia in Spain which are pronounced the same.
If we find a Greek name in California like the town of Arcadia or the much known Philadelphia it is probably a Greek colony of the 4th century BC.
Well I really want to thank you for enlightening us and all Historians (Fools who have wasted their life searching through old parchments instead of looking on your map) of this revolutionary theory. Now it will be much simple for us to write history. Thank You!
Although, You can't link Caucasian Albania with Our Albania. First the language is completely different.Second we have no information of a movement of people after the Slavs came in. Third we have information that Albanian Pricipates existed from the 11th century in Albania and some of these princes fought together with the rest of Balkan people against the Turks when they came as there were Albanians and soldiers from all the rest of the Balkans(Serbs, Bosniacs, Greeks, Romanians, Bulgarians and more) in the Balcanic Army joined under the commands of Prince Lazar (Serb) in the famous battle of Kosova(or Kosovo if you prefer). You cannot expect that Turks brought Albanians here even before they were invading The Balkans.
You cannot find someones true origin in the Balkans. There have been so many exchanges between our people through the centuries. So many invasions.
We are the most unique region in the World.
So many Empires, Kingdoms, Wars, Religions, Cultures. Can't You see that only this mix of People and Culture makes us this special. We should be so proud of being part of it. Don't try to find a nation superior to another nation.
Now just don't write such pointless shit and get yourself a life!
