What do you guys think is good/bad about being your own nation now? You think this is a long-term position or one day you might re-unite with Serbia again? |

Montenegrins left Serbia because they are sick of Serbia taking credit for the works of great Montenegrins. They will never reunite. |

HAHHA! Never reunite! The reason Montenegro left was because albanians and muslims abroad were allowed to vote en masse and Montenegrins in Serbia werent. There was rampant election fraud and ALL Montengrin leaders in the past supportd unity with Serbia.
Vladika Danilo, Njegos, Kralj Nikola.....ALL of them! Montenegro will come back because they need Serbia.
1) ALL of their tourism came from serbia. Now that many Serbs hate Montenegro, they will go to Bulgaria and Greece which have equally beutiful sites and much cheaper (especially Bulgaria).
2) They want an army and since their tourism is HUGELY declining they will raise taxes. This wont bode well with the people.
3) Since they have very few manufacturing insdustries and grow.. well. no food. They will rely on Serbia just as much as before however Serbia wont give them discounts anymore forcing them to raise taxes EVEN more.
4) With Serbia no longer pumping huge amounts of money to Montenegro, their funding for economic develpoment will be cut off and they will raise taxes even more.
5) With the separation on the muslim dominatd areas of CG looming and all of the above, they will BEG us to return. Face it, a nation with 600,000 people NEEDS a big brother like Serbia to survive. Plus, basically all of their kings supported unions with Serbia.
This process will probably take about 3-5 years and by then Republika Srpska should be ready to leave BiH and join Serbia. Same with Kraijna. I also predict that the albanians will attack FYROM soon causing FYROM to turn to Serbia for help and eventually reuniting. |

The Montengrins left because a) muslims abroad in bosnia and albania were allowed to vote in the thousands and Montenegrins in Serbia werent allowed to vote
b) Djukanovic has manipulated susceptible yoth into thinking that Montenegro will be stronger without its big brother.
The independence is very short term however. people will realize that Montengro's leaders were VERY pro unionist.
1)Njegos II (perhaps the greatest unionist of all time)
In 1848, the government of the Principality of Serbia sent him the proposal of unification of Serbs, Croats and Bulgarians. Petar agreed but said:
"Serbdom has to unite first. I will, then, to my Patriarchate of Peć and Serbian Prince to Prizren. Spiritual authority to me and secular to him, over the nation free and united. " (Njegos/ reply)
2) Njegos I: "The Russian Czar would be recognized as the Tsar of the Serbs and the Metropolitan of Montenegro would be his assistant. The leading role in the restoration of the Serbian Empire belongs to Montenegro."
3) Sava II: "Protect the Serbs from the Turkish intruding..." "...We are ready to pay Russia in blood"
4) Prince Bishop Danilo I of Montenegro: "Danil Njegoš, the Bishop of Cetinje, the leader of the Serbian land."
5) Danilo II: "In front of the tent I'll serve the King if Serbdom would be ever united and unity of Serbs reached."
"Let Prince Mihaiilo [Serb King] just start, I'll join him with my Montenegrins to liberate the Serb nation, with me even as an ordinary soldier."
6) Kralj Nikola: Under Murad I the Serbian Tsardom was destroyed, under Murad V it has to rise again. This is my wish and wish of all of us as well as the wish of almighty God.
All of these are taken from wikipedia. As you can see, Montengrins in the past viewed themselves as Serbs and they are and always will be. |

Its simple, Montenegro is and always will be Serbian land same as Kosovo. The fact that separatist politicians divided it means nothing. |
